Get Up and Go!

“Then an angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘Get up and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’ So he got up and went.” Acts 8: 26

Get up and go! Imagine if you heard a voice say get up and go up the road, to the corner of (fill in your corner) and (fill in your corner), and wait for me to tell you what to do. Well, this is exactly what God told Philip to do. But unlike many of us, the Word says that Philip got up and went and without hesitation! I wonder what God has waiting for you just around the corner. How many blessings have been waiting for you just up the road, but because you aren’t sure it is God’s voice speaking or you don’t think you have the resources to get there, you just let those blessings go unrealized?

Philip would later be called “Philip the evangelist,” whose obedience to the Lord made him the person responsible for spreading the Word of God to and through Africa. What are you missing out on? It is time for you to realize your destiny and purpose. Come on. Get up and go!

Prayer: Lord God, I receive the spirit of Philip who was a man said to be “full of the Spirit and wisdom” (Acts 6:3). I will move when you tell me to move. Amen.
